Industries · OnlyFans creators

Tax counsel for OnlyFans creators.

Unfiled returns, 1099s that don't match your deposits, IRS notices, quarterly taxes, and keeping your legal name off public filings. OnlyFans income is self-employment income, the IRS receives the platform's filings, and the matching is automated. All of it is manageable, and it is easier to manage before the IRS writes first. Flat fees, attorney-client privilege, no judgment.

Start with your situation

You haven't filed, and the money already moved

This is the most common situation and the most fixable one. The platform reported your earnings to the IRS whether you filed or not. Filing voluntarily, before the IRS makes contact, keeps almost every case civil and opens up payment plans and penalty relief. Waiting flips the leverage. If there are multiple years, there is a right order to do this in.

The 1099 doesn't match what hit your bank

Platform fees, tips, referral income, and payout timing all create gaps between the number on your 1099 and the number in your deposits. The IRS computer sees the 1099, not your bank account, and a mismatch generates a CP2000 notice on its own. The fix is a reconciliation that holds up, done before you file rather than explained after.

Quarterly taxes and self-employment tax

Nobody withholds anything for you. On top of income tax, self-employment tax runs 15.3% on most of your net earnings, and the IRS expects estimated payments four times a year. Creators who learn this in April owe a year of tax plus penalties at once. Getting the estimates and the entity structure right turns that into a managed number instead of an annual emergency.

Deductions without wishful thinking

Content production costs, platform fees, a qualifying home studio, professional services: deductible. Things with personal use are where creators get hurt, because the Code generally disallows personal expenses even when they relate to your appearance or brand. There are genuine gray areas, and the time to get advice on them is before they go on a return. I will tell you which positions hold up and which ones are audit bait.

Privacy-aware structuring

Many creators have serious reasons to keep their legal name and home address out of public records. Entity choice, formation state, and a registered agent can do that. What structuring cannot do is hide income from the IRS, and anyone selling that is selling you a criminal problem. Privacy from fans and search engines, full compliance with the government. Both at once is the design goal.

When it's already a notice, an audit, or worse

If there is a letter with a deadline, the deadline is what matters most. I handle IRS and state notices, examinations, and collections, and I am admitted to the U.S. Tax Court. Everything you tell me is protected by attorney-client privilege, which is not true of conversations with a tax preparer.

Do I have to pay taxes on OnlyFans income?

Yes. It is self-employment income, taxable whether or not you get a 1099, and whether or not the money ever leaves the platform. Funds credited to your OnlyFans balance that you are free to withdraw are income when credited, not when you transfer them to your bank.

Will the IRS know about my OnlyFans income?

Assume yes. The platform's U.S. payment entity files information returns with the IRS, and matching against your return is automated. A missing return generates a notice without a human ever looking at your account.

What can I deduct?

Ordinary and necessary business expenses. Personal-use items are generally disallowed even when they relate to your appearance. The gray areas deserve advice before you claim them, not an explanation after.

I haven't filed. How bad is it?

Fixable. Penalties and interest grow with time, but filing before the IRS contacts you keeps most cases civil and preserves your best options. The worst move is continuing to wait.

Can I keep my real name private?

From the public, largely yes, with the right structuring. From the IRS, no. Returns are filed under your real identity. The design goal is privacy from fans and search engines with full compliance underneath.

Have one of these situations right now?

If there's a notice with a deadline on it, that deadline is what matters most. Tell me what's going on, and you'll hear honestly whether it's worth paying me.
